EARLY LEARNING FAMILY PROGRAMS<br />

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Early Learning Fun</span></strong><strong> – </strong>For <em>parents and their young children ages 3-6.</em><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Its Kid Friendly Tuesdays at Love, Inc. with this child centered family program.  Join us for a weekly hands-on early learning project designed to stimulate creativity and spark the joy of learning.  This drop in – program is held in the Burlington Love, Inc. Thrift Store.</p>
<p><strong>Tuesday Mornings – 10 AM – 11:30 AM, June 19<sup>th</sup> – August 14<sup>th</sup> (Not July 3rd) </strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Summer in the Park:</span></strong><strong>  </strong><em>For Parents and Their Preschool Age Children.   (siblings welcome.)</em><strong></strong></p>
<p>Summer is a great time for families to get out and enjoy our community parks.</p>
<p>Join us for some fun outdoor activities and park exploration at Burlington‘s Echo Park.</p>
<p>Bring your umbrella for light rainy days and sunscreen for the sunny ones.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">1-2-3 Magic: Managing Difficult Behavior in Children 2-12: </span></strong><strong>  </strong>Developed by Dr. Thomas Phelan,<strong> t</strong>his 4 session video program for parents and caregivers offers easy-to-follow steps for disciplining children without arguing, yelling or spanking.  The award winning program and the follow-up presentation – <strong>More 1-2-3 Magic</strong>, includes techniques to help stop difficult behaviors such as whining, arguing, teasing, fighting, yelling, and tantrums.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">I Am Your Child Video Series:</span></strong>  Leading child development experts and the national <em>Zero to Three </em>organization help raise awareness of the critical importance early years play in a child’s healthy brain development, language &amp; literacy skill building and well-being.  This video series is designed for parents of children prenatal to age 3.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nurturing  Parenting </span></strong><strong> </strong>(10 sessions) This program, open to parents with young children and other interested community members,  introduces the philosophy and practices of Nurturing Parenting. The series of 10 independent lessons focus on:</p>

<p><strong>Family Smart Kid Friendly Partnership </strong>is a collaboration of: Love, Inc. Community Center,</p>
<p>United Way of Racine County, Western Racine County Health Department, and the Racine County Human Services Department.  Programs are provided at <strong>no cost </strong>to participants in Western Racine County thanks to funding through the Racine County Human Services Department and United Way of Racine County.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Parenting Education Opportunities Offered through Love, Inc. &#038; Family Smart Kid Friendly Partnership]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="color: #7f1543;">“I am Your Child”</span></strong> is a video series developed in association with Zero to Three, a national nonprofit organization that promotes the healthy development of babies and toddlers. The videos and their discussion address critical parenting, early childhood and school readiness issues.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #7f1543;">“Nurturing Parenting”</span></strong> is a self-instructional program that allows parents to learn the philosophy and skills of Nurturing Parenting. Some topics addressed in the program include: Developing family morals, values, and rules; improving children’s self-worth; handling anger and stress; discipline, rewards and punishment; and choices and consequences.</p>

This skill building resource allows parents to view common problems and learn valuable communication and behavior management skills.</p>
<p><span style="color: #7f1543;"><strong>“Parents as Teachers”</strong></span> is a home visitation program designed to provide resources to ensure positive child and family development. The parent educator works with families of young children in their own home, offering emotional and educational support to help them meet the challenges of being a parent.</p>
