STARFISH MENTORS URGENTLY NEEDED

The rewards you get from mentoring a boy or girl will be immeasurable.

Our Starfish mentors program is collaboration with Big Brother Big Sisters of Racine and Kenosha Counties.  The program matches teens and adults with young boys and girls who would benefit from having a big brother or big sister.

Every effort is made to match littles with just the right mentor.  We usually have 30 active matches and many success stories have emerged: better attendance at school resulting in better grades and improved self-esteem.

We currently have 17 boys and 6 girls right here in the Burlington area waiting for mentors. Many of these littles are from single parent homes.  Some need help with their homework.  Some need a hobby. They all crave attention, someone to talk with, to play catch with, to teach them how to bake a cake or saw a board, someone to be their friend.

Being a mentor doesn’t require hours of training or certification.  It does require you to spend one hour per week doing things that you and your Starfish enjoy.  It does require you to set an example by simply being yourself.   Big Brothers Big Sister does help by organizing group activities like bowling, fishing, boating, pizza parties and tickets to sporting events.

Make a difference. Become a Starfish Mentor.

To find out more about the program please call Big Brother Big Sisters@ 262-637-7625 and ask for Roz or call Love, Inc. @262-763-6226 and ask for Dena or Bill.
