Palermo’s Pizza held its 12th annual “Easter Baskets for the Hungry” food distribution during the week of April 8th to 12th. Over the course of five days, 1,000 families in Southeastern Wisconsin received assistance in the form of Food Baskets containing Easter hams and pizzas…welcome support for individuals in need during a special holiday time when families gather to share a good meal together.

Burlington’s Love, Inc. was one of five food banks in the Milwaukee area chosen to participate in the event this year. 100 families facing financial challenges and situational hardship were selected from the Love, Inc. Food Pantry program to receive these generously donated baskets. Additionally, Palermo’s corporate food truck provided basket recipients, workers and volunteers with fresh-from-the-oven slices of Pizza on the distribution day.

Epitomizing the ideals of service to the community that its founders, Gaspare and Zina Fallucca, championed, Easter Baskets is part of a robust year-round effort by Palermo’s to Unite & Serve by alleviating hunger and supporting at-risk youth. Palermo’s donated 2.5 million Pizza meals in 2018, among more than $2.4 million in cash and in-kind donations to charitable causes.

Thank you Palermo’s Pizza for including Southern Lakes Area Love, Inc. and our community in your heart-warming efforts of making a difference to neighbors in need!
